    History of BCI

BCI was founded in 1966 through the advocacy of local community leaders. It began as a storefront and provided comprehensive counseling to the growing communities of Okaloosa County. Starting as the Okaloosa Guidance Clinic with four staff members, the agency steadily added services and programs to meet the area’s changing needs. In 1991, the agency name was changed to Bridgeway Center, Inc. to reflect the expanding mission, vision, scope of services, and role in the community.

BCI has 10 locations throughout Okaloosa County. BCI currently operates and manages the One Hopeful Place male and female homeless shelter.
