Post Overdose Support Team (POST)
What is POST?
The Post Overdose Support Team (POST) is a collaborative initiative involving Law Enforcement, Okaloosa County EMS, and Bridgeway Center, Inc. aimed at addressing the opioid crisis and saving lives from overdose in Okaloosa County.
Our Mission:
To provide immediate and continuous support to individuals who have survived a drug overdose, helping them access recovery resources and prevent future overdoses.
How POST Works:
Within 24 to 72 hours of an overdose, POST team members visit survivors in their homes to:
- Offer support and guidance for recovery
- Connect them to local substance use and mental health services
- Educate on harm reduction strategies and overdose prevention
Our Multi-Agency Team:
- Law Enforcement: Ensuring safe, supportive response to overdose incidents
- Okaloosa County EMS: Offering medical expertise and overdose response support
Bridgeway Center, Inc.: Connecting individuals to trusted treatment and mental health resources

Each overdose is a critical moment to make a difference. POST meets survivors where they are—both physically and emotionally—to break the cycle of addiction and prevent future harm.
