Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is proud to announce that Stephanie Rachal, BSW, Behavioral Health Forensic Case Manager (BHFCM), has been recognized as Employee of the Month for November 2024. Stephanie’s outstanding contributions and dedication to her role have made her an invaluable member of the BCI team since she joined in April 2024.
Stephanie was chosen for this honor by BCI’s Program Leadership, who praised her exceptional performance and her embodiment of the organization’s mission, vision, and purpose. Her nomination paints a vivid picture of a professional who goes above and beyond to serve the forensic population and support her colleagues.
A Remarkable Nomination
The nomination detailed Stephanie’s extraordinary efforts as a Forensic Case Manager, a position that had not been previously filled at BCI. Despite the challenges of stepping into an uncharted role, Stephanie has excelled in meeting the needs of the forensic population. Her work has been instrumental in several key areas:
- Jail Support: Stephanie works closely with clients at the Okaloosa County Jail, assisting those transitioning from the State Hospital and the jail to re-enter society. Her efforts have resulted in numerous clients being successfully linked to housing, benefits, and employment.
- Teaching Anger Management: Responding to a request from the Okaloosa County Jail, Stephanie began teaching anger management classes for male and female inmates. Her first series of classes was a success, with two clients seeking additional services at BCI upon their release. Stephanie has since started her second series of classes, further contributing to the rehabilitation of those she serves.
- State Hospital Advocacy: Stephanie’s commitment extends beyond local efforts. She travels quarterly to the Florida State Hospital to meet with over 30 clients, assessing their needs and ensuring they are on track for release. She also attends several forensic and state hospital calls weekly to provide consistent support.
Through her efforts, Stephanie has demonstrated exceptional organizational skills, compassion, and a collaborative spirit. She balances a full caseload in the State Hospital, the community, and the jail while maintaining a positive and cheerful attitude.
A Valued Team Member
Stephanie’s supervisor described her as “a true team player” who embodies the values of Bridgeway Center. Her willingness to embrace new challenges and her ability to deliver impactful results have set a high standard for others to follow. Her work is not only a testament to her professional capabilities but also to her deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of those she serves.
