We are delighted to share some excellent news with you. The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) convened on Monday, December 4, 2023, to carefully review the nominations submitted for Bridgeway Center, Inc.’s (BCI) 2023 Annual Award of Excellence. After thoughtful consideration, the ELT reached a decision.
I am pleased to announce April Burgess, APRN, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), as the recipient of BCI’s 2023 Annual Award of Excellence. April’s outstanding dedication and contributions have set her apart, making her a deserving winner of this prestigious award.
April was presented with the award during the President / Chief Executive Officer’s (CEO) All Associates meeting on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024. Alongside a heartfelt congratulations, April received a bouquet and a monetary reward. Additionally, she was honored with a trophy and a personalized plaque, which will be proudly displayed in the Catherine Berridge Education Room (CBER) at our Hospital Drive location.
BCI will also submit a press release to the newspapers, formally announcing April as the 2023 Annual Award of Excellence recipient. This recognition not only celebrates April’s achievements but also highlights the exceptional talent and dedication within BCI.
April’s commitment to excellence is truly remarkable. Despite facing personal challenges, she has consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to impact our community positively. Her unwavering support for the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program and our Detox Unit exemplifies her dedication to our mission and the well-being of our clients.
Before her invaluable service at BCI, April served for six (6) years as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center (FWBMC) Psychiatric Unit, where she provided compassionate care to individuals experiencing acute exacerbations of mental illness. Her transition to BCI as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) has further showcased her exceptional clinical expertise and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.
April’s ability to develop genuine connections with her patients and her deep understanding of their unique needs has significantly improved outcomes and fostered a sense of trust and support within our community. Her tireless efforts have led to increased treatment adherence, reduced hospital readmissions, and improved overall well-being of those under her care.
April, your contributions to BCI are invaluable, and we are immensely grateful for your unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence. You are truly a beacon of inspiration and a testament to the values that define BCI.
