Position Summary:

Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is seeking compassionate, motivated applicants to join our Community Care Services Division (CCSD) as a Parent Support Coach (PSC).

This position provides care coordination, parent support, and social services to families of children ages 0 through 5 in Okaloosa County who are experiencing behavioral challenges in childcare settings or at home. The Parent Support Coach will assess family needs, develop and monitor individualized service plans, and facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to care that strengthens family stability and promotes healthy child development.

The CCSD program is designed to strengthen the bond between caregivers and children while promoting healthy early childhood neurodevelopment in safe, stable home and childcare environments. Through prevention, early intervention, and family-centered services, the program empowers caregivers with the tools and support needed to help their children thrive.

The PSC provides individualized coaching and support to parents and primary caregivers to increase family stability, reduce childcare disruptions, and help prevent out-of-home placements for children with significant behavioral challenges.

 Minimum Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or another related human services field.

Preferred:

Bilingual/Bicultural (English/Spanish) (not required)

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required screenings and background checks, including:

  • Applicants must be able to pass an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background check (Clearinghouse Education and Awareness Website: https://info.flclearinghouse.com)
  • National Sex Offender Registry search
  • Office of Inspector General (OIG) check (if you have previously worked for DCF (including Contract or Subcontract Provider)
  • Drug screen
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test

Knowledge / Skills / & Abilities:

  • Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable populations preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with BCI policies and applicable laws.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

Duties / Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide in-home parent coaching and family support services.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and identify family strengths and needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans.
  • Support the biological, cognitive, and social-emotional development of young children by strengthening caregiver-child attachment and relationships.
  • Promote prevention and early intervention through timely screening, identification, and service coordination.
  • Empower families by actively involving them in planning and decision-making regarding services.
  • Collaborate with childcare providers, healthcare professionals, schools, community partners, and other agencies to coordinate care.
  • Connect families with appropriate community resources and supports.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in accordance with agency standards.
  • Travel throughout Okaloosa County to provide community-based services.

Work Schedule: Schedule varies based on the availability of families served.

Work Location: Community-based position serving families throughout Okaloosa County, with travel between Fort Walton Beach (FWB) and Crestview (CV).                                                            

Wage: The wage for this position is $20.00 per hour.
