POSITION SUMMARY:             

Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is seeking applicants for the Facility Maintenance (FM) Technician position. This position is primarily responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes.

This position assists in the operation and maintenance of BCI’s facilities. We are recruiting a Facility Maintenance (FM) Technician to complete a variety of maintenance responsibilities. The Facility Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Human Resources & Quality Program Director.

The applicant selected for this position must be comfortable working alone.

Applicants must be outgoing and enjoy working with the public, professional, and para-professional team. Have the ability to collaborate and communicate with BCI departments and external stakeholders. Must be able to multi-task and always remain professional to ensure that each client has a positive and helpful therapeutic experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • High School Diploma or GED plus two (2) years related experience.

Bilingual/bicultural English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Applicant must be able to pass an Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background check, drug screen, and a Tuberculosis (TB) test. Applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and have a valid Florida Driver’s License with no more than three (3) points on their driving record to be insured under BCI’s automobile insurance policy.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / & ABILITIES:

  • Effectively communicate and interact with associates at all levels including leadership and external vendors/contractors, and clients/patients.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, and be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, adapt readily to change of work schedule, environment and work, and work well under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented, professional, and motivated.
  • Excel in a labor-intensive environment with responsibilities to over one hundred (100) associates and multiple facilities throughout Okaloosa County.
  • Follow-through on tasks to completion and thorough documentation skills.
  • Understands how to safely use the tools, equipment, and chemicals necessary to maintain buildings, grounds, and fixtures.
  • Excellent communication skills, email, and quick response time.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Some of the job tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • General building maintenance with limited supervision.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of basic plumbing, carpentry, specialty items such as doors, locks, door closures, furniture, and other general repair work.
  •  Respond to maintenance request calls and process Work Order (WO) requests as required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work in its entirety, including repairing and maintaining the facilities, consistent with BCI Policies, Procedures, and Protocols.
  • Repair or make recommendations to their direct supervisor on any defective equipment or facilities in their area of responsibility.
  • Inspection and corrective maintenance of Utility Systems, as needed.
  • Assist with building housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and trash disposal, as needed.
  • Ensure safe working conditions are being maintained in areas under their care and be able to respond immediately to emergency situations and safety concerns.
  • Understands how to safely use the tools, equipment, and chemicals necessary to maintain buildings, grounds, and fixtures.
  • Replace light bulbs / lamps, ballasts, and cleans fixtures.
  • General labor includes office moves, loading / unloading, moving materials, repair and paint, and running errands for projects.
  • Patch, repair, and paint duties.
  • Provide facilities support for event set-ups, movement and resetting of furniture.
  • Proficient in reading diagrams / instructions and assembling furniture / workstations to specification.

WORK SCHEDULE:   Fluctuates – Primarily 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Nights and weekends may be required.

WORK LOCATION:    Travel between Fort Walton Beach (FWB) and Crestview (CV)

WAGE:     The wage for this position is $20.00 per hour
