Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Licensed Mental Health Counselor whose scope of practice under the State Licensing Board in Florida authorizes their ability to provide group, individual, and family psychotherapy. Experience working with adult and children mental health/substance abuse clients preferred. Knowledgeable of mental health and substance-related diagnosis and treatment. Demonstrates the ability to interact in an Outpatient environment. Must possess good oral and written communication skills in the English language. Ability to see and hear in emergency situations. Good overall clinical skills, ability to work productively and effectively. Ability to function well as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Must pass a DCF Level II background screening and drug screening.

POSITION SUMMARY: The licensed therapist provides mental health and substance abuse screenings and assessments, group, individual and family psychotherapy and completes timely documentation of all service therapies in Electronic Health Record (EHR). Participates in staff meetings and other mandatory training and meetings. Maintains and ensure client confidentiality at all times.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Completes mental health and substance abuse assessments/screenings.
  2. Responsible for providing individual, family, and/or group therapy services for assigned caseload, based upon assessed clinical needs and individualized treatment plans. Completes discharge planning.
  3. Provides documentation in accordance with BCI policies and procedures in Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  4. Contributes to program development and implementation of written and/or verbally directed clinical procedures.
  5. Participates in mandatory as well as elective educational activities.
  6. Attends staff meetings and follows all team/program protocols.
  7. Adheres to universal precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
  8. Adheres to safety and security policies, and participates in disaster drills.
  9. Follows security regulations and policies, with consideration of clinical factors.
  10. Completes Biopsychosocial Assessments, treatment plans, progress reports and summaries, and attends staff meetings as scheduled.
  11. Completes chart reviews as required.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  13. Facilitate Batterers Intervention Program (BIP).
  14. Facilitate Anger Management Groups
